Poets for PEN I and II: two successful evenings!

Posted: May 12, 2013 in Uncategorized

The first Poets for PEN reading took place Nov 24th in the friendly setting of New College Cellar bar. We were delighted to hear the work of four distinguished and thought-provoking poets, Vahni Capildeo, Tom Chivers, Bernard O’Donoghue and Yousif Qasmiyeh, as they read to a packed and enthusiastic crowd. The success was repeated with Poets for PEN II on March the 2nd, as three acclaimed and exciting poets, Luke Kennard, Kiran Millwood Hargave and David Sergeant read to another crowd packed into New College Cellar Bar. The evening also featured poems by imprisoned Cameroonian poet and activist, Enoh Meyomesse, that the PEN group had been translating as part of our campaign for his freedom.

Standing room only once again!
